Research overview

There is a wide variety of research carried out in the department and this research activity continues to grow. The department currently houses approximately 70 PhD students and 20 ME students.

Research in the department is conducted in six primary areas:

  • Construction management
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Fluvial processes
  • Hydraulic engineering and environmental fluid mechanics
  • Roads and transportation engineering
  • Structural engineering

These activities are supported by excellent research facilities in the environmental, geotechnical, hydraulics, structures, and timber engineering laboratories.
